Howard Street Charter School is now accepting applications from current fifth-grade students for the 2012-13 school year. Howard Street is a public sixth-, seventh-, and eight-grade middle school with a strong emphasis on sciences, languages and the arts. All students are required to take three years of science, foreign language, drama, and art.

• Wednesday, February 1 at 6:30 p.m. – Parent Informational Night at South Salem High School, Rose Auditorium
• Monday, February 6 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. – Open House/Student Tours at Howard Street Charter School
• Friday, March 2 at 4 p.m. – Deadline for completed applications to arrive at the Howard Street Charter School office
• Thursday, March 8 at 4 p.m. – Lottery at South High library
