District response to influenza

Tags: news & updates

We are taking our direction from the Oregon Public Health Division and county health department because they establish the protocols for dealing with all communicable diseases.

They have asked us to urge people to use universal precautions: wash hands frequently, cover your cough, stay home if you are sick, etc.

If a child at school has respiratory symptoms and a fever or suspected fever, their parents should take them to the doctor. Our district will consult with the family, the doctor, and the health department to see if a communicable disease is suspected.

If a case is suspected or confirmed, the Oregon Public Health Division and county health department will give us directions.

Please refer flu-related questions to the County Health Department.
