
School attendance area boundaries for next school year are changing at a number of Salem-Keizer schools. Boundaries are being adjusted to create attendance areas for the two new elementary schools opening this fall, and to relieve overcrowding and balance enrollments at other schools.
The School Board voted on the boundary changes on March 13, 2012. The district will mail letters to parents of students who will be assigned to a different school next year. Parents should receive the letter by March 22, 2012.
The boundary changes make adjustments to borders between a number of school attendance areas. Adjusments also change a few feeder school alignments, which could affect some middle and high school students.
Some students at the following schools will see their school assignment change:
Elementary Schools
Auburn, Hazel Green, Keizer, Lee, Liberty, Middle Grove, Miller, Pringle, Rosedale, Scott, Swegle
Middle Schools
Houck, Judson, Stephens
High Schools
North Salem, South Salem
